My approach to your maternity session.
Your maternity session should be a fun one because it is a celebration of the big things to come! When I deliver a gallery to you, you will see authentic joy, beautiful light and vibrant colors. My approach to your maternity session is to have everyone take it easy, play around and love on each other. Here are 3 poses (in no particular order) you will see included in your maternity session gallery.
Maternity Session Pose #1
Mom holding her sweet baby bump! You've gone through so much time and energy growing your little baby so let's highlight all your hard work! I'll be sure to get solo portraits of you throughout our session with different backdrops (if possible). I especially love when mom puts one hand on the top and one hand on the bottom of her bump to highlight its size. Bringing accessories, like this beautiful flower crown are encouraged!
Maternity Session Pose #2
Mom with each kiddo. We will take posed and candid photos of your strong bond. There's so many cool things we can capture including:
- Whispering something you love about your kiddo into their ear
- Singing them a song or better yet, singing together
- Telling them a story about their birth or a memorable blowout (aren't poop stories the best?!)
- Tickling them on the count of 3
I won't ever have your child say "cheese" because it will result in a forced/strained smile. Instead, doing any of the above things will do just the trick in providing genuine smiles.
Maternity Session Pose #3
Action photos! While these aren't your typical static poses, the fact you're moving around and providing such genuine smiles makes this one of my favorite things to capture. I love documenting the in between moments and the action shots. Swinging your child, throwing them into the air, giving them hugs, running around with them, you name it... these moments provide such amazing joy. Come to your maternity session ready to play a lot!
Your love is worth documenting.
My approach is a laid back one, documenting the authentic moments between you and your family. I move quickly, going through my pose list, capturing candid and posed, grouped and individual photos. I capture lots of smiles, but I will also get the in between moments. When you child is a bit hesitant to meet me and needs your cuddles. When your child is on the verge of tears and needs a gentle song to calm them down. When your child is feeling extra wiggly and needs to run a few laps around you to get it all out. Your gallery will be a diverse one. Filled with smiles but also filled with whatever expressions your child wants to show us. Let's capture your love!
